Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the age limit?Children ages 10 and up can enjoy our experiences. Children younger than 15 need at least one adult (18+) chaperone in the room; ages 15 and up do not require a chaperone and may book "Adult" tickets. If you have one younger child in a group of otherwise older players--for example, in your family--please call us directly.
-
What is an escape room?An escape room is an adventure, a mission, a quest! You are the main character, finding clues and solving puzzles as you explore the scenery and complete your story. In our experiences, you are not trying to “escape,” and you are NEVER locked in anywhere.
-
Do you do private events? We are happy to host games for 3-8 people celebrating birthdays, bachelorette parties, team buildings, and other events. All games are automatically private bookings; no strangers will join you. Please tell us about your event during the booking checkout so we can celebrate with you! If you have more than 8 players, we would be happy to arrange back-to-back games for your group; we do not presently have a dedicated event space, but we are happy to reserve our lobby for your group. Please call or email to arrange any bookings for more than 8 people.
-
Will I play with strangers?Nope! All bookings are private, and one Game Guide will be dedicated exclusively to your game from start to finish.
-
What is your cancellation policy? We are happy to refund or reschedule your game with 48 hours notice. We are unable to offer refunds or rebookings within 48 of your game except under severe circumstances, such as infectious illness, unsafe weather conditions, sudden-onset demonic possession, or other emergencies.
-
When are you open?We are open every day but Tuesday! Booking times are available here. Walk-ins are welcome; find our hours here.
-
How many players do I need to play one of your games? Our games are designed for 3-8 players. In October, we have a minimum booking size of four players. We try to accommodate pairs when possible, though ticket minimums are generally still required. If you are interested in setting up back-to-back or concurrent games for a larger group, or have questions about booking as a smaller group, please call.
-
Can I play after a few drinks? You will definitely need your wits about you, but a little bit of inebriation won't be a problem. Plan anything beyond that for after your game. We are located right in downtown Salem and there is an abundance of bars and restaurants to enjoy afterwards!
-
Where can I park? There is metered parking onsite with limited spaces, two garages within a few blocks, and ample street parking in between. Metered parking is free after 6pm. Please leave ~10 extra minutes to find parking. During October, traffic is high, streets may be closed, and parking is extremely limited, so we do encourage you to make a parking plan.
-
Where are you located? We are located at: 207 Washington St, Salem, Massachusetts. (We are not located in Salem, NH.)
-
Is this a good activity for a birthday party?Yes! Lots of groups book our experiences to celebrate birthdays and other milestones. An escape room is a great way to have fun together with friends or family!
-
Can I book outside your regular hours?Yes! Just call us if you have specific needs for a large group (team-building, work event, etc); we run additional games outside of our regular hours wherever we are able to!
-
Are there multiple rooms in the game?In our experiences, your story will unfold across multiple acts on more than one stage.
-
How long is it? Do we get hints? Our games are 60 minutes long and your Game Guide will be your concierge throughout, following along and providing hints at the opportune moment. Your Guide is at your service, and will give more or fewer nudges at your request. Expect to arrive 15 minutes before your game, and allow 15 minutes afterwards for wrapup.
-
Are phones allowed?Yes, they are–but you won’t be needing them. You won’t need a flashlight and Google will not help solve the puzzles. You may take pictures and short videos in the experience.
